College atmosphere at Santa Clara U., Santa Barbara, Davis?

I havent gotten into any of these, but am thinking of UC San Diego, Santa barbara, davis and santa clara, what are the atmospheres like in these colleges? I have been looking at santa clara, but dont kno if its jus goody goody all the time. I will give whatever for a good anwser, or an awnser.

The mode of the country but at the beach and you show up for class in flip flops and shorts it offers really kick back you show up for class in.
